Capital Campaign

Gilda's Club Barrie Ontario is embarking on an exciting journey to "Open the Red Door" in our community. We have just entered into a groundbreaking, three-way venture with Royal Victoria Hospital and the Rotary Clubs of Barrie, the first joint venture of its kind in North America. The Gilda's Club Barrie Ontario clubhouse will be built adjacent to the future Cancer Care facility on land generously donated by the hospital, alongside Rotary House, the overnight lodge which will accommodate people receiving treatment at the Cancer Centre.

Plans are currently underway to build a 10,000 square foot clubhouse at an estimated cost of $2.5 million. Funds will be raised through a public fundraising campaign giving individuals, families and businesses the opportunity to "Open the Red Door" to a world of opportunity for those touched by cancer, helping them live richer and more meaningful lives.

The funds raised will cover the cost of construction and will also provide operational funding for the first one to two years, given that the Gilda's Club program is offered free of charge to members.

Some attractive giving options for donors include:

One-Time Gift of Cash. A tax credit can be realized through a gift of cash.

One-Time Gift of Publicly Listed Securities. Income tax can be saved by donating appreciated publicly listed securities directly to Gilda's Club Barrie Ontario as the capital gain that would otherwise be taxed is eliminated.

Pledges. Financial support to Gilda's Club Barrie Ontario may be paid over a selected time period, the maximum being a three-year term.

Gifts-in-Kind. Donations of building materials, equipment, supplies, furniture, skilled labour and other essentials will be considered.

Planned Giving Opportunities. If you would like additional information on planned giving, please contact us for a meeting with one of our financial professionals.

Gifts of Life Insurance. Donors may take out a policy and designate Gilda's Club Barrie Ontario as beneficiary of the policy. Please contact us for additional information on available options.
